MODULE 6
Balance + Length Adjustment
Balance

In this lesson, you’ll learn how to correct a skirt that’s not hanging straight—most often seen when the side seam pulls forward (or occasionally backward) instead of dropping cleanly from the low hip to the hem. Using a simple plumb line test, you’ll identify where the seam begins to drift and how far it’s shifted, then translate those measurements into a new, perfectly vertical side seam on both the front and back.

Length

In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ensure your hemline hangs perfectly parallel to the floor. You’ll measure from the floor at key points, determine whether the issue is simply a length discrepancy or a sign of a deeper fit need (like a full bum adjustment), and then correct the pattern so the hem falls evenly all the way around.
